What is Black fungus?

Black fungus or Mucormycosis is a disease that is the source of a group of molds called micromycetes.

it is India's fastest-growing pandemic.

Symptoms

• Pain and redness around eyes and nose

• Headache
• Coughing
• Shortness of breath
• Bloody vomits
• Altered mental status

Symptoms of black fungus

• Inflammation — nasal blockage and nasal discharge (blackish/bloody)

During Fungal infection you have to Do-

• You should Control hyperglycemia.
• You should track diabetics patients' glucose levels post-Covid-t9 discharge.
• You should use antibiotics/antifungals.

How to manage?

• You should Control diabetes and diabetic ketoacidosis.
• You should reduce steroids.
• You should not use immunomodulating drugs.

Medical Treatment

• Install peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC line) Maintain adequate systemic hydration.
• How to prevent Mucormycosis?
• When you are going outside, you have to use masks.
• When you are doing gardening
• Wear shoes, long trousers, long sleeve shirts.
•  You maintain personal hygiene.
