Second Wave of CORONAVIRUS in India

Second Wave of CORONAVIRUS in India

More than a year and a half has been passed since Covid-19's first case was detected in the world. After detecting the first case no one has ever imagined later this Covid-19 could create havoc among the nations and halt the world, which never stops. The whole world stopped due to Covid-19 Pandemic, all the activities, people, industries, and transportation everything halted. But as we were moving towards the end of 2020, most of the countries had started to control this corona pandemic. The number of daily corona cases started to fell down and the number of people who recovered from corona also starts to increase, this all happened due to various important steps in the right direction taken by the governments. Various pharmaceutical companies started to get success in making the vaccine for the Covid-19 pandemic. This was just a small victory, WHO had warned every nation and asked them to take precautionary majors until every person is not vaccinated or the number of Covid-19 cases fell down to zero. But as covid-19 cases started to fell down people started to take Corona lightly. People started to live normally as they were living before. Despite the warning issued by the WHO and the Governments of various countries, people ignored the advice. People not only ignored the warnings and threats but also started to live carelessly. In most nations, this carelessness is causing the second or third wave of Corona. Here we will talk about India.

For the past 4 to 5 months, India was doing really good and the covid cases till February 15 were under 10 thousand but as the second wave kick-started a daily number of cases reached 1 lakh as of April 5. The Second wave of corona may create a big problem for India. Some states have already started to take necessary measures and also started to implement night curfew or practising lockdown. If the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases continues like this, then the day is not far when India has no other option to stop Corona, and India has to implement the lockdown again.

Here are some reasons why the second wave of Corona is causing problems for India:

  • Carelessness: Biggest reason for this second wave is the carelessness of our fellow Indians, whenever we go out then we should wear a mask, keep sanitizing our hands from time to time, and keep social distance from other people while we are outside of the home but we are not following these simplest rules. We can easily find people at the grocery store, vegetable market, Malls, Theaters and public transports in these places that people are moving here and there without any mask on their face. Sanitiser is a faraway thing to talk about in this scenario. If we can't follow this basic step to prevent Corona then how can we fight with Corona to stop it from spreading? We are not learning from our mistakes and repeating the same mistakes and at the same time giving corona an edge to beat us in this fight. So please whenever you go out please wear a mask and keep sanitizing your hands from time to time.

  • Elections: In India right now some states such as Kerala, Assam, West Bengal, and Tamil Nadu have assembly election in the month of April and some states may have by-poll election too. So, in this scenario, all the parties who are contesting the election should organize a digital rally instead of a real rally, Cause in a real rally lakh of people gathered which may result in a big number of covid cases in the following weeks. But every political party is busy doing bigger and bigger rallies across the state without thinking that they have put lakhs of lives in danger. I believe Honorable Supreme Court should intervene in this and give clear order to these political parties to stop real rallies and ask them to do only virtual rallies so that spread of coronavirus infection can be stopped.  If they don’t follow these orders then strict action against them should be taken

  • Festivals: First of all, I want to clarify that I am not against any festival of any religion or cast. India is a country where we celebrate hundreds of festivals every year. These festivals are a part of life and they represent our tradition and culture. But in the current scenario of Corona, we have to be careful. We can keep our celebrations short and simple with a minimum number of people. In this way, we can avoid big crowd and also keep away from the corona. We can celebrate in the house only.

  • Vaccination: In India from January Vaccination had started.  We are a country whose population is more than 1.3 billion. So, it is going to be a very big and time taking process to vaccinate all the population. It is the world biggest drive for a country to vaccinate its people. Though the vaccination process is underway but at a very slow pace.

Vaccination till now (April 5, 2021)-

        1st dose administered- 6,86,78,838 (5.9%)

        2nd dose administered - 1,04,26,325 (0.9%)

       Total population- 1,17,31,08,018

       Doses per 100 people - 6.74

Manufacturing has its limitation and these vaccines also work differently for a different person. These vaccines have some side effects. That's one of the reasons why people are waiting and not going for vaccination. Everyone has to take two doses and there is a minimum 28 days gap. The supply of Vaccine is limited so everyday limited doses of the vaccine only provide to the people. Governments should encourage and motivate people to get vaccinated by using a different - different media.

So, if we really want to win against Corona then we have to first follow the rules decided by the Governments and keep using them. Also wear a mask when you move out and keep a sanitiser handy with you always.
