With the beginning of Sawan, the season of festivals begins. It is customary to offer Ghevar sweets at fasts and festivals like Hartalika Teej, Rakhi, Nagpanchami, Mangalagauri, and Kamika Ekadashi. That is why it is said that the festival of Sawan is incomplete without Ghevar. Ghevar is a Rajasthani sweet but it is liked all over the country.

Ghevar Recipe and Ingredients
- The ingredients required to make delicious Ghevar are flour, ghee, sugar, almonds, pistachios, saffron, cardamom powder, and yellow food color.
- Water and ghee are mixed in the flour to make the batter. Food coloring is also added and the batter is poured into a cylinder with hot ghee. The process is repeated and a round cake is made called Ghevar.
- Sweet syrup is made and Ghevar is dipped in it. Soaked saffron is poured over it and garnished with chopped almonds and pistachios is served.
- Also a special skill is needed to make Ghevar. It should be flat with 8-9 inches in width and 12 inches in height. It is difficult to prepare this dish in simple shortbread and only it is recommended.
Varieties of Ghevars
Guevara's recipe is very popular during the festive season. People like to enjoy this dish in the form of Paneer Ghevar on Rakshabandhan. It is garnished with grated paneer (paneer). Desi Ghee and Mawa Ghevar are usually made during the celebration of the Teej festival.
