World Teachers Day 2022 Theme: This year's celebrations of World Teachers Day are guided by the theme “The transformation of education begins with teachers”.

Why Do We Celebrate Teacher’s Day in India?

On the anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan's birth, India commemorates teachers’ day. His numerous admirable traits made him a popular teacher with his pupils.

He made a point about the value of teaching and education in a developing nation like the Republic of India in his book "Political Thinkers of Modern India." He asserts that teachers play a critical part in the development of a nation and that, as a result, they deserve greater respect. He was a philosopher in addition to being a thinker and a teacher. A teacher is "the one who prioritizes presentation to converge multiple currents of thinking to the same aim," according to a book he previously authored on the Bhagwad Gita.

Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that "teaching is not a career, it is a way of life." Teachers were asked to comprehend the global changes taking place in order to better educate the next generation to deal with them. Teaching is not a job, but rather "Jeevan Dharm" (a way of life). In actuality, guiding and illuminating are heavenly duties.

Additionally, he stated that teachers should be treated with respect if India is to restore its position as the world's educational leader (Vishwaguru) and urge students to engage in critical thinking about national concerns. As they establish the foundation and the pillars of society, teachers' tenacity and sincerity will "form the fate of the nation."

Significance of Teacher’s Day:

Among all the jobs in the world, teaching has the most influence. Throughout history, teachers have molded the minds of future generations, and without knowledge, no human can exist. Children become responsible citizens when teachers impart good values to them. Teacher's Day is thus observed in practically every nation.

The world has become darkened by ignorance, and teachers are the source of light in it. Our teachers are the true pillars of our success. They help us acquire new skills, improve our existing ones, gain confidence, and choose the most effective path for achievement. But despite having such a significant impact on student's lives and the development of the country, they rarely receive the recognition they merit. Thus, it is our responsibility as students to express our gratitude to them at least once a year, and Teachers' Day provides a perfect occasion to do so.
