It was a great victory for DC. DC did really well in the match and towards the end of the match, DC hold their nerves. It got a bit tense towards the end of the match for DC, but Hetmyer and Yadav did show maturity and helps DC to seal the run chase. In the first innings, MI batters didn't get off to a good start as they lost Quinton de Kock wicket early. The partnership between SKY and Rohit Sharma was important for MI. Rohit Sharma was doing well with the bat and was playing some attacking shots but when he got out, the MI team got scattered like cards. A score of then MI was 76/3, but soon it became 84/6. The star performer for DC was, Amit Mishra, he took 4 wickets and tear apart MI. Towards the end of MI Innings Ishan Kishan and Jayant Yadav's partnership helped MI to reach close to 140.

Spinners did their part and bowled very well for MI. Jayant Yadav provided MI with an early breakthrough in the form of Shaw and put pressure on DC at the beginning of DC's innings. Rahul Chahar also continued his great performance and took the wicket of the dangerous Shikhar Dhawan. Pollard tried to play on his strength but failed to implement and got out. Boult bowled brilliantly once again and in his 4 overs, he gave just 23 runs. Bumrah has bowled a couple of no balls. Despite the good bowling from MI, MI couldn't save the target. DC started off very badly as they lost Prithvi Shaw early. But Steven Smith and Shikar Dhawan built a very good partnership. Smith was playing some good cricketing shot and he was in good touch but he got out by Kieron Pollard. Once again Shikhar Dhawan played a very good inning for DC and scored 45 important runs. Rishabh Pant got out early by Bumrah. There were tense moments towards the end of the DC's innings but Shimron Hetmyer and Lalit Yadav helped DC to win this contest. Amit Mishra was selected as Man of the Match.
