Chetan Sakriya a player rising from a middle-class family, whose father drove an auto to meet the daily needs of their family. Initially, his father was against his cricket playing, cause his father believed that cricket is a game of rich people game, not ours. But Chetan believed in his capabilities and talent, he was determined towards this game. So he kept trying his best and finally, the big day arrived when he debuted in List A match. Chetan Sakariya finally made his List A debut for Saurashtra in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on 22 February 2018. He made his first-class debut for Saurashtra in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy in November 2018, and also took a five-wicket haul in the very first innings of his career in first-class cricket. He made his Twenty20 debut for Saurashtra in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in February 2019. In February 2021, Sakariya was bought by the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL auction ahead of the 2021 Indian Premier League.
