Throughout his career, he has been involved in teaching and training of under- and post-graduate medical students as well as nursing students. Professor Abdullah has 36 research papers in medical science, which have published in various national and international journals. He is the author, in addition to the present one, of four books, titled, "Short Cases in Clinical Medicine", "Long Cases in Clinical Medicine", "ECG in Medical Practice" and "Case History and Data Interpretation in Medical Practice". Among these "Short Cases in Clinical Medicine" is also published by Elsevier and was awarded the University Grants Commission Award (Bangladesh) in 2015. He has written numerous health related articles in Bengali and English, which are published in several renowned daily newspapers. He also delivered many television programs on public health issues. Recently one book written in Bengali has also been published in Bangladesh. He has been elected as the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at BSMMU for consecutive two times.
